The Face of Another / Kobo Abe

I felt emotional at the end. I reread the first few pages. I feel aversion when a book's first few pages seem to purposefully ignore the reader or assume that the reader will read the entire book. I think I feel that initially. But then if the book is able to cause me to read it in entirety I prefer it how it is than if it had revealed more information in the beginning.
